At the heart of the beautiful seaside town of Hunstanton, the Snettisham Salvation Army Community Shop plays an important role in the local community. Popular with both residents and visitors - especially during the busy summer months - our shop has built a reputation for offering good quality items in a friendly and welcoming environment. We take great pride in maintaining high standards in everything we do.

We are now looking for a motivated and enthusiastic Charity Shop Manager to join our team. Working closely with the Assistant Manager, you will oversee the day-to-day running of the shop, ensuring it is safe, well organised and an enjoyable place for customers, volunteers and staff alike.

This is a rewarding opportunity for someone who is passionate about community, enjoys working with people, and wants to play a key role in supporting and further the Mission of The Salvation Army.

Key Responsibilities:

The post-holder will be responsible for the overall running of the shop. These duties will include managing staff and volunteers. Key responsibilities will include ensuring the highest standards of customer care, budget management, the management of the daily operation of the shop including stock management and housekeeping, managing the security and accounting of cash, health and safety, administrative tasks, and the recruitment, training and supervision of volunteers.

The successful candidate(s) will:

Have proven interpersonal skills, previous experience in a charity shop/retail environment and in managing staff and/or volunteers, be able to work on their own initiative and in a team, enjoy working with people, and be able to deal tactfully with staff, volunteers and the public. It is important that the candidate understands the needs of customers and has basic proficiency in Maths and English. Candidates must also be committed to the values, aims and ethos of The Salvation Army.
