Chaplain to the LGBTQIA+ Community
Chaplain to the LGBTQIA+ Community
The Diocese of Bristol is looking to appoint a Chaplain to the LGBTQIA+ community.
Location: The chaplain would primarily be based at home.
Commitment: The role is open to a Christian in the Diocese of Bristol, with lived experience as an LGBTQIA+ person, or with close friends or family who are LGBTQIA+. This is a voluntary post.
This part-time role offers a unique and vital opportunity to support the LGBTQIA+ community in the Diocese of Bristol, and enables Diocesan Support Services to support them.
The Chaplain will nurture and connect LGBTQIA+ Christians across the Diocese, offering pastoral care, spiritual support and advocacy, while building networks that enable belonging, empower ministry, and ensure LGBTQIA+ voices are heard and valued within the Diocese.
This role is central to the Diocese of Bristol’s vision of ‘Transforming Church. Together’ - recognising and responding to the needs of those on the margins and empowering their full participation in the life of the Church.
