New College is looking for an experienced, self-motivated and skilled administrator who will be responsible for the organisation of chapel services and events, provide PA support to the Dean of Divinity, and oversee safer recruiting for chapel staff and volunteers. The chapel is home to the internationally recognised Choir of New College, which sings six nights a week in term-time under the direction of Robert Quinney.

This role will be attractive to an individual with an interest in choral music or the chapel environment, or to someone with events management experience. Please see the Further Particulars here for a detailed description of the role and the requirements of the post.

Hours of Work

Working 21 hours per week (.6 FTE annualised), excluding unpaid meal breaks.

The weekly working pattern will be agreed with the Dean of Divinity and can include up to 50% working from home.

Salary: University Grade 5 salary (£30,378–£35,608 per annum), plus an Oxford Weighting Allowance of £1,730 per annum, all pro rata.

Leave Entitlement

6 weeks plus bank holidays, pro rata, with the following restrictions:

Term-time:

  • Up to 4 days off per term (as annual leave or in lieu) with the agreement of the Dean of Divinity. More than two consecutive days of leave may not usually be taken during university terms, except by arrangement.
  • Bank holidays must be taken as annual leave.

 

Out of term:

  • At least 4 weeks of the annual leave entitlement must be taken in the school and university holidays: early January, mid-March to mid-April, and August – September.
