We’re looking for someone who brings creativity, passion, and ambition to manage and deliver our challenge events portfolio while ensuring every participant feels valued and supported.

The challenge events manager (maternity cover) will steward our current challenge event fundraisers, recruit and then steward our runners for the London Marathon 2027 and our portfolio of 2027 events. This role is central to growing our income, engaging supporters, and expanding our programme to include innovative new events that align with our mission.

Person specification

Essential:

  • Proven experience managing large-scale challenge or mass participation events in the charity sector.
  • Strong project management skills, with a track record of delivering events on time, within budget, and to a high standard.
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills, with the ability to build meaningful relationships with supporters and motivate them to achieve their goals.
  • Consistent and creative thinker with the ambition to maintain, recruit and deliver an events programme.
  • Strong analytical skills, with experience using data to monitor performance, identify trends, and inform decision-making.
  • Proactive, results-driven, and self-motivated, with a commitment to achieving income targets.

Desirable:

  • Experience managing a large team of fundraisers, ideally, for the London Marathon.
  • Knowledge or lived experience of autism and the challenges faced by the autistic community.
  • Familiarity with fundraising platforms such as Run for Charity, JustGiving, Enthuse, or Raiser's Edge.
