Chair, Fundraising and Safeguarding Trustee
About
Our Board is seeking three new trustees to strengthen our governance and help lead this next phase of growth.
- Chair. We are looking for someone with prior trustee and ideally chair experience, strong networks, and the skills to facilitate a values-driven Board effectively.
- Fundraising Trustee. Our Fundraising Trustee will lead our Fundraising Sub-Committee and play a direct role in moving VIP toward long-term financial sustainability. We are looking for a senior fundraiser, development director, or philanthropy professional who can help diversify our income, open doors to corporate partners and major donors, and support the development of a multi-year income strategy.
- Safeguarding Trustee. Our Safeguarding Trustee will chair our Safeguarding Sub-Committee and provide expert governance oversight of safeguarding policy and practice. They will act as a critical friend to our Designated Safeguarding Lead, advise the Board on legislative changes and best practice, and help ensure our safeguarding culture and systems keep pace as VIP grows into new areas and partnerships.
All three roles sit on a Board that meets four times a year (currently online), with four additional sub-committee meetings per year for the Fundraising and Safeguarding roles. Monthly informal check-ins with the CEO take approximately one to two hours per month in total. Enhanced DBS checks are required for all roles and will be arranged and funded by VIP.
Across all three roles, we are looking for people who are committed to VIP's vision of a society free from youth violence, bring honesty and integrity, and approach governance with curiosity, humility, and a willingness to ask difficult questions constructively.
We particularly welcome applications from people with lived experience of the issues our clients face, and from individuals who reflect the diverse communities we serve.
