UHI Moray is seeking an ambitious and visionary Centre Director to lead the establishment and strategic development of our new Business Enterprise Hub, based in Elgin, Moray.

The Hub is a project developed through the Moray Growth Deal. The Growth Deal, which is supported by the UK and Scottish Governments, is a transformational initiative designed to maximise Moray’s future economic competitiveness. This is a rare opportunity to shape a flagship regional initiative that will support economic growth, entrepreneurship, innovation and skills development across Moray and the wider UHI regions. The Hub will create a focal point for enterprise support, graduate retention, business incubation, leadership development and employer engagement.

The successful candidate will provide strategic leadership for the Hub, build strong relationships with industry, public sector agencies and investors, and ensure the Hub becomes a recognised centre for enterprise excellence and business engagement.

The postholder will play a central role in delivering the ambitions of the Moray Growth Deal through:

  • Developing and implementing the Hub’s strategic vision and operating model
  • Building partnerships with employers, industry bodies, local authorities and enterprise agencies
  • Supporting business start-up, incubation and innovation activity
  • Securing external funding, sponsorship and commercial income opportunities
  • Leading multidisciplinary teams across enterprise, business engagement and innovation functions
  • Ensuring strong governance, financial management and reporting arrangements
  • Promoting UHI and UHI Moray as key drivers of regional economic development

The successful candidate must be educated to SCQF Level 11 with relevant industrial/commercial experience, a proven track record in business development and the ability to build a creative, innovative centre that benefits the college and wider region. The candidate will need leadership experience, being able to work collaboratively with colleagues within the Hub and the wider college community, while engaging effectively with stakeholders including the wider UHI partnership.
