Catering Secretary, (High Table and Senior Members)/ Bookings Coordinator
About the role
Trinity College, founded in 1546 by Henry VIII, is one of the largest Colleges in the University of Cambridge, with some 720 undergraduates, 350 graduate students, 190 Fellows and around 360 non-academic staff. We are looking to recruit a Catering Secretary, (High Table and Senior Members), who will also function as the Bookings Coordinator.
The person appointed will provide confidential support and assistance to the Head of Catering and the Senior Management team. They will manage the administration of special College functions, (Feasts and College Dinners), the Fellows and Senior Members’ catering database, and oversee MA Dining requests. They will jointly serve as the primary point of contact for internal and external communications for the Department.
They will manage the departmental email aliases, (feasts, high table, Catering inquiries, and MA dining), both electronically and physically, disseminating information as appropriate. They will provide administrative support to the Wine Steward and Catering Steward. They will offer secretarial support for the High Table Committee and responsive assistance for the Feasts Committee, Catering Committee, and Catering Management Team.
There will be an opportunity to contribute to departmental projects as needed and to oversee the departmental internet, intranet, and e-brochure.
The successful candidate will have excellent spoken and written communication skills, be highly organised and capable of managing multiple streams of work simultaneously. They will be proficient in the use of Microsoft Office, (Outlook, Teams, Word and Excel). Experience of working with a database and booking system is desirable, but training will be provided.
We offer a salary of £33,836 per annum plus excellent benefits which include (subject to eligibility) a generous defined contribution pension scheme, free meals when on duty, a subsidised gym and, after satisfactory completion of the probation period, a cycle to work scheme and private health care.
