Catering Assistant (30 hours per week, Monday to Friday 9am until 3pm, Term Time only)

An exciting opportunity to join our Catering team has become available.

We are looking for a Catering Assistant who will be responsible for providing effective and efficient high-quality service to university staff, students and associated commercial hospitality business activities. This is a hands-on role that requires high energy and a passion for the hospitality sector. You must work to a high standard, have attention to detail and most importantly take pride in your work.

Summary of Responsibilities:

  • Serve customers in a polite & friendly manner.
  • To ensure high quality, customer focused provision of hot and cold food and beverages.
  • Setting up the dining room in accordance with department standards.
  • Compliance of the Department’s Food Safety System.
  • Consistently delivering a professional and efficient service to our customers.
  • Ensuring a professional and hygienic appearance.
  • Ensuring cleaning and closing down procedures are carried out and documented.

The appointee will also be expected to:

  • Be flexible to work in different locations on Campus
  • Be prepared to help (Where possible) with special events i.e. Graduation, Open Days and Royal Visits.

Experience/Qualifications:

- Catering experience in a busy customer facing role

- Basic food preparation/handling experience
