Casual Minibus Driver : We are currently seeking a Driver to join our friendly and dedicated team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for transporting older people to designated locations.
Please do not apply if you don’t have the essential requirements of a D1 category on your driving license.
The main responsibilities of a Casual Minibus Driver are:
- We collect people from their homes to the Day Clubs and return them safely in the afternoon.
- Working with the Day Care Manager, assisting with trips and outings.
- Assisting people to enter and vacate the minibus, ensuring their safety and physical needs are fully met.
- To help ensure the minibus is maintained through completion of daily checks, refuelling, vehicle cleanliness and reporting of maintenance and repair issues to the manager.
Skills & Requirements:
- Proven experience of driving a minibus or similar vehicles
- Strong, careful driving ability
- Good knowledge of road safety and traffic regulations
- Ability to drive smoothly and cautiously to ensure passenger comfort
- Helping older passengers safely board and exit the vehicle
- Assisting with seatbelts, walking aids, or wheelchairs
- Ensuring passengers are seated securely before moving the vehicle
- Clear and polite communication with passengers
- Ability to listen patiently and respond to needs or concerns
- Being calm and patient with passengers who may have mobility issues, hearing difficulties, or memory problems
- Understanding how to recognise and report safeguarding concerns
- Respecting the dignity, privacy, and wellbeing of vulnerable passengers
- Ability to respond appropriately in case of minor medical issues or emergencies
- Ensuring passengers reach their destinations on time and safely
- Carrying out basic vehicle checks before journeys
- Ensuring safe use of ramps, lifts, or restraints if fitted
- Following risk assessments and transport policies.

Essential:
A UK driving licence with D1 category on your license.
Hours and Pay
- Contract:Casual
- Salary:£12.21 per hour increasing to £12.71 per hour from 1 April 2026.
