Casual Lighting Technician (1725)
Do you have experience in lighting together with a basic knowledge of working in a fast-paced theatre? Can you operate, maintain and rig LED lights and movers? Are you looking for additional hours and income? Can you be available at short notice to work a variety of shifts including evenings and weekends in Stratford-upon-Avon?
Our Lighting Department is looking to increase the pool of Casual Lighting Technicians that can be called upon, sometimes at short notice, to support during busy periods. You may be asked to support fit ups, act as follow spot or perform other show essential duties, alongside general maintenance and ensuring the department runs smoothly.
Reporting to the Head of Lighting, key areas of responsibility include (please see the Role Profile for the comprehensive list):
- Assisting Technicians with fulfilling the lighting requirements of shows reliably, efficiently and safely.
- Safely operate the departments equipment to a high standard meeting Health and Safety regulations, this includes LED fixtures, moving lights, we use both MA and ETC desks.
- Participating in the smooth running of a fit-up, get-in, rehearsal, performance, changeover and get-out in our Stratford theatres.
- Assisting with fault-finding, repairing and maintaining department equipment.
To be suitable for this role, it is essential that you have:
- Basic knowledge of electricity and electrical safety
- Confidence to work safely at height
- Knowledge of LED lights and movers
- Ability to work on your own initiative and within a team
- Willingness to respond at short notice to support the team
This position is offered as a casual agreement which requires availability at short notice to cover a variety of hours, including evenings and weekends. We are looking for people with a flexible approach to working, with availability to support the department.
