We are an independent local charity based in Bosham, Chichester offering a wide range of services to support our patients, and their loved ones, who are living with a life limiting or terminal illness. The work we do makes a real difference to the lives of local people and we support over 330 patients at any one time between our In Patient Unit and Community teams.

Why join us as a Casual Collections and Deliveries Driver

If you want a role that is supporting the local community and offers flexibility then this is the perfect opportunity. As a casual driver you will be visiting customers houses and collecting or delivering furniture. You don’t need a specific licence to drive our Luton Vans, (think moving house), you just need to be a confident driver.

You’ll be covering Bognor to Emsworth and up to Midhurst (in terms of how far you’d drive), and you’d be working with some fantastic employees. As part of the role you’ll also get the opportunity to support the warehouse.

This is a casual (or Bank) role meaning that there are no set weekly hours; some weeks you might get a couple of shifts, others you might get none, although you will always know in advance. This is a great option for those looking for flexibility and autonomy over their schedule.

Being a Casual Collections and Deliveries Driver at St Wilfrid’s

• Support the General Manager and Store Manager in offering excellent customer service in the Distribution Centre & Furniture Outlets
• Visit customers and donors in their homes to deliver items sold and collect goods donated to St Wilfrid’s for sale
• Responsible for providing a high standard of customer service to donors and customers in their homes and businesses
• Responsible for the driving Hospice vehicles safely and for the movement and handling of stock
• Maintain awareness of the Hospice to enhance the profile and reputation within the community

Qualifications and Experience

• Full, clean driving licence
• Experience of working in a customer facing environment
• Prior experience of two-person handling is desirable, as lifting and manoeuvring of heavy and bulky furniture is required in the role
• Knowledge and interest in Charity retailing is desirable
• Volunteering experience is desirable
• Right to work in the UK
