Are you passionate about helping others?

Do you have a knack for listening and a desire to make a tangible impact on people’s lives?

If so, we want YOU to join our amazing team at Caring Together Charity, a regional charity dedicated to supporting unpaid carers across Cambridgeshire, Peterborough and Norfolk.

We’re looking for a compassionate and organised Carer Services Advisor to join our busy and dynamic team. You’ll be the first point of contact for carers reaching out for support, providing them with vital information, advice, and a friendly, understanding ear.

About Caring Together Charity

For over 40 years we have been supporting families who are living with an illness or disability.

At Caring Together Charity, our vision is a world where no unpaid carer is left in crisis, isolated, or struggling alone.

We support unpaid carers before, during, and after their caring role by providing practical help, emotional support, and timely interventions that genuinely make a difference. An unpaid carer is anyone who looks after a family member, partner, or friend who needs support due to illness, disability, mental health needs, or addiction.

Each year, we support over 17,000 carers and their families, yet more than 150,000 unpaid carers live across our region – and the number continues to rise.

By joining our team, you will play a vital role in supporting carers at some of the most challenging moments of their lives.

What you’ll be doing

Imagine being the lifeline for someone who dedicates their life to caring for a loved one. You’ll be:

  • Answering the call:Handling enquiries via our carer advice line, ensuring everyone gets the support they need quickly and efficiently.
  • Being a guide:Providing accurate information, signposting to vital services, and empowering carers to achieve their personal goals.
  • Making breaks happen:Helping carers access much-needed respite, working with our team and local organisations to create meaningful breaks.
  • Getting to know carers:Conducting statutory carer’s assessments (on behalf of Norfolk County Council) and developing personalised action plans.
  • Keeping things running smoothly:Supporting the team with a variety of administrative tasks, ensuring everything runs like clockwork.
  • Connecting with carers:Providing support via phone, email, Teams, and online platforms – wherever our carers need us!

Why you will love this role

  • Make a real impact:You’ll directly improve the lives of unpaid carers across Norfolk.
  • Varied and rewarding work:No two days are the same! You’ll be dealing with a variety of situations and helping people in diverse ways.
  • Supportive team:You’ll be part of a friendly, dedicated team who are passionate about what they do.
  • Professional development:We’re committed to helping you grow and develop your skills.
  • Generous annual leave entitlement:25 days annual leave (plus eight bank holidays).
  • Employee Assistance Programme (EAP):Offering 24/7 GP and support service.
  • Paid carer’s leave and above statutory sickness leave: (subject to qualifying periods).

Who we’re looking for

  • Someone with excellent communication and listening skills.
  • An organised and efficient individual with strong administrative abilities.
  • A compassionate and empathetic person who genuinely cares about helping others.
  • Someone who can work independently and as part of a team.
  • Someone who is comfortable using various communication platforms (phone, email, Teams, online).
  • A passion for upholding GDPR and ethical standards.
  • Someone with a willingness to learn and adapt.
