Sense is looking for a passionate and motivated person to join our fantastic team as a Care Team Leader at our Supported Living service in Louth. In this role, you will be part of a team that empowers individuals with sensory loss and learning disabilities to live independently in their own homes.

This is a permanent, hands-on leadership position working 37.5 hours per week at a rate of £13.84 per hour. You will be a visible role model for your colleagues, spending the majority of your time delivering direct support while dedicating one day per month to administrative tasks and team coordination under the guidance of the Service Manager.

If you live outside of Louth, to be considered for the role you will need use of your own vehicle to get to and from the service for early/late shifts due to very limited public transport.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Guiding a team of Support Workers to provide exceptional care across our two supported living properties.
  • Providing high-quality 1-to-1 support for non-verbal individuals.
  • Leading the team in using positive behaviour support to manage distress.
  • Helping individuals live fulfilled lives through activities like walks, cinema trips, or sensory sessions.
  • Using manual company vehicles to take individuals to appointments and community outings.
  • Completing office-based administrative tasks

What We’re Looking For

  • Experience in complex care, sensory loss, or learning disabilities.
  • Experience of mentoring and inducting staff, supporting staff through supervisions and creating development plans is desirable.
  • Previous experience as a support worker or team leader in a similar setting – we’re happy to work with you to help you become an excellent Team Leader.
  • An NVQ or equivalent qualification in health and social care and the care certificate, or be willing to work towards these.
  • A full manual UK driving licence
  • Flexibility to work shift patterns including mornings, evenings, and weekends.
