WHAT WILL THE ROLE INVOLE?

As Café Supervisor you will lead and motivate team members to achieve high standards of performance, whilst providing a professional, friendly, and efficient service to Cook and Learn Community Café customers. In addition, you will be responsible for the implementation and monitoring of Health and Safety Standards ensuring the café operates smoothly and efficiently day to day.

The ideal candidate will possess excellent planning organisational and problem-solving skills, be motivated and enthusiastic and have a current REHIS qualification and a minimum of 3 years previous experience working in a supervisory role.

Main Aims & Duties:

  • Identify opportunities to actively market, promote and develop Cook and Learn Community Café.
  • Liaise with suppliers to ensure cost effective purchasing, maintaining stock levels and ordering new supplies as required.
  • Oversee the daily café operations to ensure high standards of Health & Safety regulations, company policies and best practice.
  • Support, lead and motivate team members to deliver excellent customer service while working in partnership with the Training provider to provide support to all trainees.
  • To provide an efficient and effective kitchen and front of house service to customers, understanding their needs and requirements, working to exceed these wherever possible.
  • Assisting with the preparation of and the serving of all meals and beverages to customers.
  • To demonstrate a positive, enthusiastic, committed, and flexible attitude towards customers and other team members, recognising the importance and benefits of effective team working.
  • Maintain cleanliness, hygiene, and safety standards always at front counter area and in kitchen
  • Handle cash, card payments, and daily till reconciliations and keep accurate financial and administrative records.
  • Assist in staff scheduling and supervise closure of the café and associated tasks.
  • Always deliver and maintain a quality service in line with RTWS Customer Service Standards Policy and Procedures

WHO ARE WE LOOKING FOR?

ESSENTIAL SKILLS & KNOWLEDGE:

Essential Desirable Minimum 3 years supervisory experience in the hospitality industry. Experience of menu planning. Reliable with good time keeping skills and hands-on approach to supporting team members. Barista Qualification. Excellent knowledge of Health & Safety legislation and safe working practices. REHIS qualification. Excellent organisational skills. Experienced in cash handling and reconciliation Good oral communication skills. Ability to communicate with both customers and colleagues at all levels of seniority and liaise effectively with other internal departments. Good interpersonal and customer facing skills, able to empathise, maintain professionalism, display patience and politeness within a sometimes pressurised and fast paced environment. Confidence to deal with difficult situations and to know when appropriate to seek guidance from line manager. Must possess computer skills, including, but not limited to, Microsoft Office. Confidentiality and discretion and an awareness of the Data Protection Act.
