Westminster Chapel is a diverse church in the heart of London, looking for someone to help our café make a big difference in the community. New Acre Café exists as an extension of the church, blessing anyone who walks through our doors. This happens through showing great hospitality, providing really tasty drinks and enabling people to connect to the life of Westminster Chapel. They want someone with a passion for Westminster Chapel’s and the café’s mission and a desire to give all our guests the best experience possible.

Hours: 35 hours per week
Location: Westminster Chapel, Buckingham Gate, SW1E 6BS
Salary: £28,000 per annum

Key Responsibilities:

Ensuring excellent hospitality at all times by understanding and advancing Westminster Chapel's mission, modelling meaningful conversations with customers, and training the team to do the same.

Participating and championing the activity of New Acre with Chapel's Apostolic Team, implementing missional objectives, and proactively developing engagement with key demographic groups.

Taking ownership of profit-loss performance and working with the Café Manager to improve financial performance.

Training Café Assistants to respond to customer needs, maintain product standards, and provide expert knowledge on the menu, coffee blends, preparation, and products.

Ensuring stock levels are maintained, receiving and stocking deliveries, and following drink recipes, food preparation techniques, and procedures.

Following health, safety, food hygiene standards, daily checklists, and SFBB, while ensuring all staff maintain high cleaning and sanitation standards.

Reporting safety hazards, equipment failures, repair needs, and employee accidents to the New Acre Manager and/or Premises Manager.

Maintaining a clean and organised workspace, operating EPOS terminals, including the safe custody of money, and keeping up to date with café industry and local trends.
