Location: Café Dewi, St David’s Hospice, Llandudno
Hours: 30 per week (5 out of 7 days flexible)
Salary: £21,091.20
Reportable to: Head of Commercial 
Contract: Permanent, part time

Are you passionate about delivering excellent customer service and leading a friendly, welcoming team? If yes then why not join our dedicated cafe team and help support hospice care in your community. We’re looking for a Café & Gift shop supervisor to oversee the day-to-day running of our busy café and gift shop while supporting our dedicated team of volunteers.

About the role:

As Café and Gift Shop Supervisor, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth daily operation of both the café and gift shop. You will supervise volunteers, manage stock, oversee cash handling and banking procedures, maintain excellent food hygiene standards, and help create an inviting environment for every customer.

As the Café & Gift shop supervisor, you’ll also

  • Support promotional activities/events
  • Maintain attractive retail displays
  • Identify opportunities
  • Maximise income to support hospice services

This role requires flexibility and adaptability. A full driving licence and access to a vehicle is essential.

To do the role you'll need:

Bring the right mix of experience, compassion, and teamwork.

  • Has previous experience in hospitality, retail or customer service
  • Previous supervisory or team leadership skills
  • Excellent customer service and communication skills
  • Is passionate about the hospices mission and community impact
  • Can quickly build rapport with teams and customers
  • Is confident, organised, and able to work independently
  • Thrives in a fast-paced, varied environment

It would be great if you also have:

  • Experience working with volunteers or in a charity/healthcare setting
  • An interest in fundraising and community engagement
  • A Food Hygiene or allergen training certificate
