1.1 JOB TITLE Cafe Assistant
1.2 SALARY: National Minimum Wage
1.3 LOCATION Roadford Lake Café and Venue
1.5 HOURS: 0 – 40 hours per week on a flexible basis (including weekends and bank holidays)
1.6 RESPONSIBLE TO: Café & Venue Manager
2. OVERALL PURPOSE:
2.1 To work in the café and function suite, delivering consistently high standards of customer service, washing dishes, clearing tables and upselling at every opportunity. Assisting with basic food preparation and maintaining standards of hygiene.
3. KEY TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
3.1 Serving customers at the counter, taking food orders, delivering consistently high standards of customer service.
3.2 Ensure customers are enjoying their meals and take action to correct any problems
3.4 Setting and clearing tables
3.5 Polishing cutlery, crockery and glasses
3.3 General kitchen duties, basic food preparation, handing and re-heating
3.4 Clearing tables and washing dishes
3.5 Actively upselling and promoting products to customers at every opportunity
3.6 Complete hygiene records as appropriate
3.7 Selling gifts, providing product information to customers and restocking displays from time to time.
3.8 Maintain good communication with kitchen staff and front of house colleagues
3.9 Provide information to customers in response to enquiries on the site, its activities and South West Lakes Trust generally.
3.10 Ensure all Trust and statutory regulations regarding Health & Safety and food hygiene are adhered to.
3.11 Undertake training and development as required by the Trust.
3.12 Account to the Café Manager for health and safety of colleagues, customers, contractors and self.
3.13 Perform such other duties as may reasonably be assigned by the Trust.
4.0 CAPABILITIES:
4.1 An enthusiasm for working with the general public and good communication skills.
4.2 Smart personal appearance and professional image.
QUALIFICATIONS Preferred:
4.3 Current Level II (Basic) Food Hygiene certificate.
4.4 Current, clean driving licence.
