About The Role
We are looking for a proactive and highly organised Business Support Officer to provide efficient, confidential and high‑quality administrative and coordination support across our HR and Organisational Development functions.
This role plays a key part in supporting the employee lifecycle, learning and development activity, workforce data management and wider organisational projects. You will help ensure that processes run smoothly, records are accurate, and colleagues across the Trust receive a professional, responsive service.

Key Responsibilities
General Business & Administrative Support
- Provide comprehensive administrative support to HR and OD teams, ensuring smooth delivery of people‑related activities.
- Coordinate meetings, workshops and events, including scheduling, preparing papers, taking minutes and tracking actions.
- Maintain accurate and confidential records, logs and documents in line with GDPR and organisational policies.
- Manage shared inboxes, routine enquiries and internal communications.
HR Support
- Accurately maintain employee information across HR systems.
- Support onboarding processes including pre‑employment checks (e.g. DBS), new starter documentation and induction coordination.
- Prepare HR correspondence and meeting documentation.
- Take minutes at HR‑related meetings (e.g. absence, capability, disciplinary and grievance).
- Assist with audit preparation, HR reporting and data requests.
Organisational Development Support
- Support OD projects, programmes and workforce development initiatives.
- Administer learning and development activities including course bookings, attendance tracking and maintaining training records.
- Assist with the administration of the Learning Management System (LMS).
- Support workforce data collection, validation and reporting.
Systems, Data & Process Management
- Ensure employee and organisational data is accurate, complete and up to date.
- Conduct routine data quality checks and support system administration tasks.
- Support establishment control by maintaining accurate records of approved posts.
- Process financial transactions and orders relating to HR/OD activities.
About You
We’re looking for someone who:
- Has 2–3 years’ administrative experience in a busy professional environment.
- Demonstrates excellent attention to detail, accuracy and confidentiality.
- Can manage competing priorities and work effectively in a fast‑paced environment.
- Has strong digital skills and is confident using HR systems, databases or LMS platforms.
- Communicates clearly and professionally with staff at all levels.
- Is proactive, organised and committed to delivering high‑quality support.
