The Role

We now have an exciting new role for an outstanding Business Reporting Analyst. Reporting to the Business Reporting Partner as part of the Chester Zoo Finance team.

We’re looking for someone who can:
• To support the Business Reporting Partner in providing excellent site wide reporting by collecting and managing data in a form that can be used to generate meaningful management information, reports and dashboards in formats to assist the end user.
• To work with key stakeholders site wide to enable data to be captured and reported on in a timely and accurate manner in a format that can be used to assist with producing management information for decision making and provide operational benefits.
• To provide organisational support through the design and development of clear, accurate and reliable management information that allows analysis, insight and decision making, enabling the achievement of key outcomes and business objectives.
• As the organisation rolls out new commercial systems, the development of reporting around the organisation will be a critical function of the role to both meet daily operational needs and improve business intelligence.
• Working closely with the Business Reporting Partner and Systems and Business Information Accountant on data driven project tasks, whilst enabling the Executive team to provide accurate, detailed and clear information to the Board of Trustees, associated sub committees and other groups on a periodic basis.
• The role will primarily use mainstream technology such as Microsoft Power BI and SQL
• Monitor the quality and integrity of data captured and processed across the organisation and establish and communicate clear standards.
• Support the documentation of in-house databases/datasets, e.g. in form of data dictionary, to make it easier for users to identify the right database/database table/datasets/data fields to use for creating reports and delivering on operational requirements such as Gift Aid.

The Package

• Permanent contract, 40 hours per week.
• Salary: £30,750 - £32,725 depending on experience

Our Requirements

• A sound working knowledge/experience of SQL inc CTEs/subqueries/joins, advanced Excel, Data visualisation tools (preferably PowerBI)
• Advanced knowledge of Microsoft packages and other desktop software
• Methodical thinker and the ability to view data logically and holistically
• Strong collaborative skills, able to understand and interpret user needs and advise on possible solutions. Able to manage expectations and build relationships at all levels
• Confident working on concurrent projects with tight deadlines
• Strong project management, organisational and time management skills
• Ability to focus on detail and accuracy is essential.
• Excellent problem-solving, analytical and evaluative skills

Although not essential, the following would be desirable:

• Relevant experience developed in a leisure, retail or hospitality environment, would be an advantage.
