Instant Impact, in partnership with NatCen (The National Centre for Social Research), is hiring a Business Process Improvement Manager to help simplify, standardise and automate how research projects are delivered.
You’ll play a key role in reducing friction across delivery, improving workflows, and cutting down repetitive manual work. Working closely with teams across the organisation, you’ll turn process issues into practical, measurable improvements using Microsoft 365 tools.
Key Responsibilities
- Own process improvement end‑to‑end: map current ways of working, identify inefficiencies, and design improved workflows that genuinely make delivery easier
- Turn insight into action: carry out root‑cause analysis, document processes clearly, and translate findings into practical improvement initiatives
- Build practical solutions: design and implement workflows and automations using Power Automate, Power Apps, SharePoint and Teams
- Lead improvement initiatives: take ownership of small to medium‑sized projects, managing them from concept through to delivery and adoption
- Reduce manual effort and rework: improve data flow, remove duplication, and streamline handovers across teams
- Bring structure and measurement: define success measures, track progress, and demonstrate tangible improvements in efficiency and quality
- Support adoption and change: work alongside teams to embed new ways of working and ensure improvements stick
- Champion continuous improvement: promote good practice across the organisation and help teams identify and shape their own improvement opportunities
Skills, Knowledge & Expertise
- Experience identifying and improving business processes in a complex environment
- Strong analytical, problem‑solving and organisational skills
- Working knowledge of Microsoft 365 tools, particularly Power Automate, Power Apps and SharePoint
- Confident working with stakeholders at all levels, with the ability to facilitate effective conversations
- Comfortable managing multiple priorities and delivering to deadlines
- Experience in a research or data‑driven environment is helpful but not essential
- Lean, Kaizen or Six Sigma experience is desirable but not required
If you enjoy making organisations work better, turning process issues into clear solutions, and delivering change that has a real impact, we’d love to hear from you.
