Business Enabler
2x Part-time roles (total of 37 hours per week)
Permanent
Grade C: Salary Range - £36,203 - £41,824 (full-time equivalent)
Location: Any of the Arts Council of Wales offices (Cardiff, Colwyn Bay or Carmarthen) with Hybrid Working
Our benefits include 30 days annual leave, 2.5 privilege days, flexible working hours/pattern, cycle to work scheme and a final salary pension.
About the role
We are recruiting to two part‑time posts (e.g. 0.5FTE/0.5FTE or 0.4FTE/0.6 FTE) within the same role, (together equivalent to 1 FTE). These posts may be filled by two separate individuals on a part‑time basis.
We’re looking for two proactive and collaborative part‑time Business Enablers to join our Corporate Services team. This newly created role is central to our ambition to provide strategic, responsive and high-quality business support to the arts sector in Wales.
You’ll work closely with our funded organisations, acting as a business partner to help strengthen their resilience, sustainability and impact. You’ll be expected to work independently but also to collaborate with colleagues across the Arts Council, particularly in the Arts and Research teams, to identify needs and deliver tailored support. This could range from designing training through to facilitating and delivering workshops, as well as assessing and monitoring grant applications for support. You’ll also contribute to sector-wide initiatives, training programmes and the development of new approaches to business and operational development.
This is a dynamic role that will see you using your skills across a broad spectrum of business disciplines, including finance, governance, HR, income generation, climate justice and fundraising.
About you
You’ll be an excellent communicator with experience in business partnering or providing independent operational support to organisations. You’ll be confident navigating complex challenges and building trusted relationships with stakeholders.
You may bring expertise in a specific area, but you’ll also be comfortable working across disciplines and adapting to emerging needs. You’ll be analytical, organised, outcome-focused, and a problem solver, with a commitment to inclusive and ethical practice.
Welsh language
We work in both English and Welsh. Everyone’s story with the language is different and we recognise that levels of ability and confidence vary from person to person. We are looking for an individual who understands the culture of the country; the varied relationship of the people of Wales with the Welsh language and who is committed to developing innovative use of the Welsh language both linguistically and culturally within the Arts Council and the wider sector. Learning Welsh language skills will be necessary when appointed. We will ensure the relevant support to increase or learn Welsh language skills.
Our commitment to inclusion
We're looking for fresh perspectives and new voices – whether you're D/deaf, disabled, neurodiverse, from different cultural and ethnic backgrounds, from the LGBTQ+ community or have taken unconventional paths to get where you are. Your lived experience matters here.
We are a Disability Confident Employer, committed to interviewing all disabled applicants who meet all essential criteria set out in the person specification.
Please refer to this link for further details.
We’ll support you as you settle into the organisation, even if some things are new to you. During your induction, you can also receive mentoring or training if you need it.
Flexible working
We want to help staff balance work and life, so we welcome requests for flexible working or job‑share arrangements. We’re also part of the Happy to Talk Flexible Working initiative, which means we’re open to discussing flexibility from the moment you apply.
As this is a part‑time role, please clearly state your preferred working pattern, under section 2 of your job application. Additionally, please clearly state your proposal for working anything other than the advertised hours in your covering email upon submitting your application.
How to apply
Please submit the Application Form in Word format to HR@arts.wales.
Please complete the Equality, Diversity and Inclusion Monitoring Form via the Microsoft Forms link that can be found in the application form.
If you would like to submit your application in an alternative format, such as voice note, video or British Sign Language video, please contact us first.
You can apply in Welsh or English. Applications in Welsh will not be treated less favorably.
