What’s the Job?
We’re looking for a talented Business Development Assistant to join our External Development and Commercial Team on a full time, permanent contract. The role will primarily support the development of the commercial department to ensure the success of funded projects, achieve income targets, promote opportunities and support marketing initiatives.
The External Development and Commercial Team is responsible for delivering certificated and bespoke professional courses, SVQs, Modern Apprenticeships, Open Learning courses and funded programmes, in a College that aims to be one step ahead.
What You’ll Do
As a Business Development Assistant within our External Development and Commercial Team, you will:
· Support initiatives intended to engage existing and new customers.
· Support a strategic sales engagement approach that seeks to maximise commercial returns.
· Progress the day-to-day delivery of account management initiatives to ensure commercial customers are satisfied with our services.
· Work alongside marketing to drive commercial activity.
· Support future produce and service developments.
· Be an administrator for database CRM and other information management systems related to commercial activity in the College.
· Prepare and present reports as required intended to quantify business development in line with strategic direction, objectives and team key performance indicators.
· Support the team to contribute to the achievement and delivery of the College’s target level of Scottish Funding Council funded learning credits.
Who we’re looking for
We’re looking for a Business Development Assistant with a background in partnership development and relationship building to support the growth of the commercial College activities. You must be experienced in communicating via telephone, electronically and in person, using a CRM system and enjoy working in a fast paced dynamic and industrious environment.
To succeed in the role, you will have some or all of the following:
· You will be educated to SCQF Level 6 or have relevant skills
· Experience of working in a sales/development role is preferred
· An appreciation for marketing
· Good/Excellent digital skills with a willingness to continuously improve digital competencies
· Strong customer service / organisation / teamworking / relationship building skills
· Good/Excellent verbal and written communication skills
· Excellent listening, negotiation and presentation abilities.
· Experience using MS Office
· A current full driving licence is essential for this role
· This post is required to be based on Campus in Dumfries
