We currently have an opportunity for a Built Environment Compliance Lead to join our Building Safety Team working from home with regular travel. For this role you will be expected to ensure the ongoing development and effective delivery of the Group’s Building Safety services providing guidance, advice and support to the Group on Built Environment Regulation and Compliance matters to ensure statutory, regulatory and contractual compliance to minimise risk and maximise safety and ensure that best practice is employed across the Group.

The role will sit in the Building Safety Team and will report into the Director of Technical Building and Fire Safety. the building safety Team has over 30 members of staff and the new role will be integral to the support provided to ensure regulatory compliance.

The role of Built Environment Compliance Lead will include:

• Oversee the provision of clear guidance, advice and support on technical built environment building safety regulatory and compliance practise to ensure compliance with Group policy, relevant legislation and best practice in order to minimise risk to the organisation
• Develop and maintain sufficient knowledge of current and new building safety legislation, monitoring developments in the field, identifying trends and making recommendations for improvements ensuring solutions and good practice are implemented and that the Group satisfies compliance requirements
• Act as 'Client' representative by co-ordinating and monitoring the delivery of remediation projects by Building Safety Services team, contractors and internal teams to ensure cost effective and efficient delivery of works
• Contribute to the development and implementation of appropriate building safety frameworks, plans, policies and processes to meet changing regulatory requirements in support of the Group's development strategies and business plan
• Develop, take ownership and then implement processes and standards to ensure quality data on building safety and relevant asset attributes is collated and stored and the Group is compliant with its Building Safety responsibilities and golden thread requirements

 

Skills and experiences:

• Degree, management qualification or relevant professional qualification
• Level 6 diploma in Occupational H&S or (or working towards)
• Membership of the Institute of Occupational H&S (ISOH)
• NEBOSH Construction Certificate
• ALP Principal Designer Building Safety Certificate
• Comprehensive experience of undertaking a similar Principal Designer role (CDM / BSR)
• Comprehensive knowledge of Gateways 2 & 3, and current and good practice and related issues
• Proven experience in assessing complex built environment remediation works to determine statutory reporting requirements and contractors controls
• Proven experience of analysing and diagnosing problems and implementing effective solutions
• This role will involve driving on company business. In order to drive a company vehicle, drivers must hold a full valid UK driving licence.
