Contract: This is a fixed term position until July 2027 with the possibility of extension

The Salvation Army’s Anti-Trafficking & Modern Slavery Direct Delivery Department (ATMS DD) is seeking an experienced and committed Building Compliance & Assurance Lead to oversee health, safety, and contractual standards across our network of safe houses and outreach centres.

In this pivotal role, you will:

  • Lead on all aspects of building compliance and assurance for 12 sites (10 safe houses and 2 outreach offices) across England, ensuring survivors and staff are housed and supported in secure, habitable, and dignified spaces.
  • Work closely with Service Managers, landlords (internal and external), and property colleagues to guarantee that all accommodation units meet statutory health and safety standards, contractual accommodation requirements, and repair timeframes.
  • Oversee the successful integration of Home Office contractual requirements with internal and third-party building services agreements, ensuring seamless service delivery and robust compliance with the Modern Slavery Victim Care Contract (MSVCC).
  • Act as the operational bridge between the Direct Delivery team, TSA Property Department, Salvation Army Homes (SAH), and other stakeholders, strengthening relationships to improve frontline services.
  • Monitor, review, and report on compliance performance, proactively addressing risks and driving continuous improvement in building safety and quality standards.

To be successful in the role you will have;

  • Strong experience of working successfully in a similar property/housing compliance role, in a demanding contractual/commissioned/regulated work environment
  • Strong knowledge and experience of developing and implementing systems/processes to analyse, manage and report on property related compliance risks
  • Strong working knowledge of UK housing standards and statutory property compliance
  • Strong practical working knowledge of the standard building and maintenance works required for the operation of a varied property portfolio, to enable you to work in partnership with building specialists/contractors to facilitate the completion of works to agreed time, quality and budgetary targets
  • NEBOSH General Certificate (or valid certified equivalent)
  • Full UK driving licence and ability and willingness to travel throughout the UK and Ireland Territory to visit sites/settings on a regular basis
  • The ability and willingness to work within and be empathic with the Christian ethos and values of The Salvation Army Mission
