Purpose
Located at our Romford and Basildon sites, you will be teaching BTEC Caring for Children to young people aged 13-16. You will be working alongside the SENDCo, Teaching and Learning Manager and a group of GCSE, Entry Level and Practical Skills Tutors.
Students are referred to our alternative education programme and are often challenging (academically and/or behaviourally). You will take an active role in helping to equip students with the skills they will require to progress on to further education, an apprenticeship and work.
Key Areas
- Delivering Caring for Children to small groups of students (normally a maximum of twelve)
- Developing schemes of work and lesson plans
- Complete the marking of work and assessment for learning within the BTEC department.
- Developing relationships and offering support to challenging students in order for them to achieve
- Liaising with colleagues to monitor student progress, behaviour and attendance
- Keeping up-to-date registers on attendance and progress and ensuring that information on student progress is tracked in the database
- Produce individual learning plans and set appropriate targets
- Attend meetings with parents and schools as required
- Be familiar with and following the company code of conduct for student behaviour (and applying disciplinary procedures evenly)
- Planning and marking time is scheduled throughout the working day and you are not required to work outside these hours.

Pay: £22,913.00-£33,560.00 per year

Ability to commute/relocate:
- Romford RM1: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (required)
Experience:
- working with children: 1 year (required)
Licence/Certification:
- DBS (will be completed if not) (preferred)
