We are seeking two BSOF local organisers to recruit, organise and work on the MAT project which is part of a national project that is seeking to build a sustainable model for recruiting and organising in schools amongst school support staff. The successful candidates will work as part of a small team travelling across the region to visit target schools focussing on recruiting, retaining and organising members.
The successful candidate will bring their experience and skills in one-to-one communications, recruitment, organising and campaigning. Previous experience as a recruiter, organiser and campaigner within a trade union or community organisation would also be desirable. You will also need to demonstrate a knowledge of trade unionism and our union’s values. Your office will be in Leeds but you will be expected to travel across the Yorkshire & Humberside Region.
The successful candidate will need to be flexible with their working hours. Reaching members can be challenging during “office hours” so the successful candidate may be required to work in the evening, early mornings and occasionally at weekends.
