The International Ceramics Festival (ICF) is seeking a Treasurer to join its Board and play a key role in shaping the future of one of the world’s most respected ceramics events.

Held in Wales and recognised globally, ICF brings together leading ceramic artists, makers, and thinkers from across the world. As a Board Member, you’ll be part of the strategic leadership behind the festival – helping guide its direction, sustainability, and continued international impact.

This is a voluntary, non-executive role suited to someone with financial expertise and an interest in the arts, ceramics, or cultural events. Alongside supporting the organisation’s financial health, the role offers a unique opportunity to expand your professional network, collaborate with a passionate board, and connect with world-renowned ceramicists and creatives.

The Role

As Treasurer, you will contribute at Board level to the strategic planning and financial governance of the festival, ensuring robust and transparent financial management.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Overseeing the financial stewardship of the festival alongside the Chair and Board
  • Preparing and presenting financial updates at bi-monthly Board meetings
  • Monitoring budgets, cashflow, and expenditure across the festival lifecycle
  • Supporting financial planning and post-event reporting
  • Maintaining accurate financial records using appropriate systems
  • Providing financial insight to inform strategic decision-making

Skills & Experience

  • Strong financial literacy with confidence interpreting budgets and reports
  • Experience with Excel; knowledge of accounting software is advantageous
  • An interest in ceramics, craft, or the wider arts sector
  • Experience with funding or grant applications (e.g. Arts Council of Wales, British Council) is desirable

Time Commitment

  • Approximately 5 hours per month
  • Additional input required in the lead-up to and immediately following the festival
