Behaviour Change Project Worker

The Change 4 U Behaviour Change Programme provides support to male and females who display abusive behaviours within their intimate relationships. Our aim is to support and protect people whose lives are adversely affected by domestic abuse. We offer a structured programme which seeks to challenge detrimental beliefs and behaviours and re-educate clients to develop respectful and responsible attitudes towards others and themselves.
The programme provides a wide range of support to partners and ex-partners to enhance good safety outcomes for families.
Successful candidates will need to be compassionate, non-judgemental, experienced in risk management and safety planning, as well as being a skilled communicator who is able to develop partnership relationships in a multi-disciplinary team
Initial Specific Responsibilities
- Identify and assess risks and needs of individuals, undertaking risk assessments and safety plans
- Provide one-to-one support for people who display abusive behaviours using a trauma informed approach
- Assess clients according to their needs and agree intervention plans
- Provide one-to-one support for people who display abusive behaviours using a trauma informed approach
- Work directly with all key agency partners to address the impact of the abusive behaviour on the safety of high risk victims and their children, ensuring that their safety plans are coordinated through the MARAC and DA IOM Operations Group
- Attend MARAC as and when required by line manager
- Execute clear client exit plans
- Work as part of a team and attend multi agency meetings
Experience
- Experience of working with people who have been affected by domestic violence/abuse
- Experience of working in partnership with other agencies (statutory and voluntary/community)
- Experience of providing one–to-one support
- Experience of supporting clients with complex needs in the domestic abuse sector
- Experience of empowering individuals to make positive changes to their lives
- Experienced in risk management and safety planning
- Experienced of working in a multi-disciplinary team
