Responsible to: Food & Beverage Manager
Contract: This role is offered on a casual worker basis; hours are not guaranteed and will be offered depending on operational needs.
Rate of pay: £12.71 per hour
Background
The Stables, based in Milton Keynes, is one of the UK’s leading music organisations with a vision to engage the widest range of people with music in all its diversity. As a registered charity we strive to enrich people’s lives with opportunities to access, participate in and experience live music, and the arts in general.
We usually deliver more than 400 concerts across all music genres and 250 learning and participation projects each year. The venue is used to welcoming over 100,000 visitors to the site annually. We also produce events in other places including IF: Milton Keynes International Festival, a large-scale event which engages people with extraordinary events in unusual spaces and in unexpected ways.
The Stables has three bars (The Main Bar, the Snack Bar and The Kitchen/Stage 2 Bar), serving a wide range of drinks and food/snacks. The Stables also provides the bar service at IF: Milton Keynes International Festival and associated events.

Job Purpose
As a Bar & Cellar Cleaner at The Stables you will work within the Hospitality Department, reporting directly to the Food & Beverage Manager. You will be responsible for the cleaning of all three of our bars (Snack Bar/ Main Bar/ Stage 2) and cellar to a high standard in line with Environmental Health and Health & Safety standards on a weekly basis. You will also carry out regular deep cleans of all bars and the cellar.
Principal Responsibilities

Maintaining Cleanliness & Hygiene Standards
• Play an active role in maintaining the cleanliness and order of all bars and cellar
• Clean vital equipment such as our coffee machines, glass washer and ice machine
Hoover, mop and dust all areas
• Remove all glasses to clean shelves and glass mats
• Dismantle and clean all spirit optics
• Launder tea towels, serving cloths and aprons
Defrost all freezers
• Deep clean all bars
• Adhere to Health & Safety regulations, proper chemical handling and infection protocols
• Use appropriate cleaning equipment and maintain inventory of cleaning products and supplies
Other
• Undertake any other duties as required appropriate to the level of responsibility of the role, as reasonably required
Flexible with working hours including evenings and weekends

Key Terms and Conditions
The current rate of pay for this post is £12.71 per hour.
This is a casual worker role and there is no obligation on the employer to offer work or on the worker to accept work. Hours are likely to be in the region of 8 hours per week.
Working hours will be set via a rota and would usually be at the start and end of the week (Monday or Tuesday/ Thursday or Friday) and generally between 9am and 1pm. These hours are typical but not guaranteed. Hours may vary, and additional hours may occasionally be available to support operational requirements.
