Bank Chef

St Nicholas Hospice Care is a successful charity serving the local area of West Suffolk and Thetford. Every year we support nearly 2,000 local people, delivering care across multiple settings. Our services are not just for patients, but for their family and friends too, and include everything from specialist medical care to bereavement support and practical help. Our catering team ensure that a varied and nutritious menu is available to our patients, visitors and employees.

We are seeking an experienced Chef to join our catering team on a bank basis.  Although primarily working at the main hospice in Bury St Edmunds, the ideal candidate will be flexible to work across both our sites in Bury St Edmunds and Haverhill in line with organisational need.

Brief description of duties:

  • Plan menus to a standard which meets culinary, nutritional, budgetary and dietary requirements, adapting at short notice to meet patient need
  • Day to day running of the kitchen
  • Prepare, cook and serve food and beverages for patients, employees and visitors.
  • Consult with clinical colleagues regarding special dietary needs of patients
