Advanced Support Worker

Location: Barrow-in-Furness | Bank | Driving Licence Required

Are you an experienced, compassionate support professional ready to take the next step in your career? In Barrow-in-Furness we’re looking for an Advanced Support Worker who not only delivers exceptional care but also mentors and inspires others to do the same.

About Our Service

This is a vibrant supported living service made up of three individual flats, each tailored to the unique needs and preferences of the people who live there. Currently home to two outgoing and fun-loving gentlemen, we’re preparing to welcome a third tenant soon.

Each flat reflects the personality of its resident — from sensory rooms to minimalist spaces — and our tenants are actively involved in shaping their own support plans. Whether it’s enjoying a walk, heading to the pub, relaxing in the garden, or planning a trip out, we support people to live life their way — with independence, dignity, and joy.

What Makes Our Homes Special

  • Totally personalised support — no two days are the same
  • Collaborative care — we work closely with families and professionals
  • Holistic wellbeing — promoting choice, independence, and inclusion
  • Community connection — from swimming and shopping to socialising
  • A culture of kindness — laughter, happiness, and compassion are key
  • Continuous evolution — support is never finished; we grow together

Your Role as an Advanced Support Worker

As an Advanced Support Worker, you’ll be a role model within the team — leading by example, mentoring new staff, and helping shape the quality of care we deliver. You’ll bring creativity, empathy, and leadership to every shift, ensuring our tenants receive the best possible support.

You’ll be responsible for:

  • Supporting tenants with learning disabilities in a person-centred way
  • Promoting independence, wellbeing, and daily living skills
  • Mentoring and guiding team members to uphold best practices
  • Contributing to support planning and service development
  • Building strong relationships with families and professionals
  • Encouraging community engagement and meaningful activities

What We’re Looking For

We need someone who is:

  • Reliable, honest, and motivated
  • natural mentor and team player
  • Flexible and adaptable to meet individual needs
  • Committed to our core values and person-centred care
  • A great communicator and listener
  • Able to build positive relationships with families and professionals
  • Fun, enthusiastic, and full of heart

Shift Patterns

We can offer a bank role with flexible shift:

  • Day shifts: 8am–3pm or 3pm–10pm
  • Night shifts: 10pm–8am
  • Prefer longer shifts? We also offer 8am–10pm double shifts

Please note: A full UK driving licence is required.

Why Work With Us?

  • A truly rewarding role where you’ll see the impact of your work
  • A supportive team that values honesty, transparency, and growth
  • Opportunities to mentor others and develop professionally
  • A workplace filled with joy, purpose, and connection
