We are an independent local charity based in Bosham, Chichester, offering a wide range of services to support our patients, and their loved ones, who are living with a life limiting or terminal illness.

The work we do makes a real difference to the lives of local people and we support over 330 patients at any one time between our In Patient Unit and Community teams.

Being a Band 6 Physiotherapist (Bank) at St Wilfrid’s

Working pattern: Bank role – flexible hours to suit both parties, within the times Monday–Friday 08:30–16:00

We are looking for a compassionate and skilled Band 6 Physiotherapist to join our team on a bank basis, supporting people living with life-limiting illness across our Living Well Centre, In-Patient Unit, and Community services.

This rewarding role is based within a specialist palliative care setting, where physiotherapy focuses on helping people live as fully and comfortably as possible, guided by what matters most to them.

You will provide specialist physiotherapy assessment and treatment, delivering personalised, holistic care that promotes comfort, function, independence, and quality of life. Using a rehabilitative palliative care approach, you will support people to maintain or improve their abilities where appropriate, alongside symptom management and emotional wellbeing.

Working as part of a supportive multidisciplinary team, you will contribute to coordinated, person-centred care, including advance care planning discussions and liaison with external health and social care professionals to support seamless transitions across services.

The role includes both individual and group rehabilitation programmes, supporting wellbeing, participation, and meaningful activity.

Key responsibilities

  • Deliver high-quality physiotherapy assessment, treatment, and review, adapting care plans to individual needs
  • Support people to achieve their personal goals through a rehabilitative palliative care approach
  • Deliver individual and group rehabilitation sessions
  • Work collaboratively with patients, families, carers, and the multidisciplinary team
  • Contribute to advance care planning and coordinated care
  • Liaise with external professionals and community services to support continuity of care

Qualifications and Experience

  • Degree in Physiotherapy and current HCPC registration
  • Minimum of 3 years’ post-qualifying experience
  • Experience of community-based working
  • Experience in palliative care settings
  • Experience in MSK, neurology and respiratory physiotherapy
  • Full UK driving licence and access to a car
