Woking & Sam Beare Hospice are pleased to announce the following position:

Band 6 Senior Occupational Therapist

An exciting opportunity has arisen at Woking and Sam Beare Hospice for a motivated and compassionate Occupational Therapist to join our friendly therapy team, helping to deliver and develop palliative care therapy services for people facing progressive and life-limiting conditions across our catchment area in North West Surrey.

Our therapy team consists of Occupational Therapists, Physiotherapists and Therapy Assistants. We work closely with a team of Clinical Nurse Specialists, Palliative Care doctors, our Hospice at Home team, Counsellors, and Complimentary Therapists. The locations we see patients in are varied and this post includes working across inpatient, outpatient and community services. The ability to travel in your own car to visit patients at home is essential.

We are seeking a dedicated and motivated Occupational Therapist who is patient focused and passionate about palliative care. Ideally you will have some experience in oncology, respiratory or palliative care or other transferrable skills that can be utilised. Excellent communication skills and the ability to liaise with patients and staff at all levels are essential.

This is an excellent opportunity to develop your clinical skills within a supportive and collaborative multidisciplinary environment. The successful candidate will provide Occupational Therapy assessments and treatments to patients with complex and life-limiting conditions, helping to maximise independence, manage symptoms and improve overall wellbeing.

In return for your skills, you can expect to join a caring multidisciplinary team working in a beautiful Hospice in the heart of North West Surrey. Our vision is to enable all of those with life-limiting illnesses to live life to the full and to equip them to die with choice and dignity.

This post is for a part-time position (22.5 hours).

If you would like to discuss this role further or arrange an informal visit, please contact Sabrina Linstromberg (Therapy Team Lead) on 01483 881750.
