THE BRUN BEAR FOUNDATION

The Brun Bear Foundation is a registered charity based in South East London working across four charitable streams: community grants, medical innovation, animal welfare, and BAME maternity health. We are a small, ambitious organisation with a growing programme of events, webinars, and partnerships.

We are looking for a highly organised and self-motivated Programme Assistant to support the delivery of our BAME Maternity strand. This is a hands-on, varied role that will sit at the heart of our most active programme area.

What you will be doing:

  • Supporting the planning and delivery of our BAME Maternity webinar series (approximately six webinars across 2026 at six-weekly intervals)

  • Coordinating speaker outreach, confirmations, briefing packs, and post-event follow-up

  • Managing delegate communications, registration, and ticketing for the annual BAME Maternity Conference (January 2027)

  • Drafting and scheduling social media content across the Foundation's platforms, maintaining a consistent posting schedule and brand voice

  • Building and maintaining the BAME Maternity database and mailing list

  • Supporting the production of newsletters, event tiles, and digital assets

  • Conducting research to support the Chair on partnerships, funding opportunities, and programme development

  • Providing general administrative support to the Chair as required

What we are looking for:

  • Strong written communication skills — you will be drafting content that goes out under the Foundation's name

  • Experience of social media management, ideally across multiple platforms

  • Highly organised with the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines independently

  • An interest in and sensitivity to BAME maternal health issues

  • Experience with event coordination, even at a small scale

  • Comfortable working remotely and managing your own time

  • Familiarity with tools such as Mailchimp, Canva, or similar is desirable but not essential

This role would suit someone with a background in charity administration, community health, communications, or events who is looking for a flexible, meaningful role with genuine responsibility from day one.
