DETAILS
Your main responsibilities will include:
- Assist in the movement of equipment / supplies for the build of all Air Ops facilities across the airfield, including the Flight Centre, Briefing Hangar, Aircrew Compound, Crew Club, Aircraft Engineering Hub, Aircraft Fuels Office & Air Traffic Control Tower.
- Working with the Ground Operations Department, and contractors / suppliers, monitor the installation of equipment/infrastructure, in Air Operations facilities, ensuring it meets with the agreed specification and timeline.
- Responsibility for Air Operations vehicle fleet (hire vehicles), including oversight of temporary livery application and fitting of temporary equipment such as radios and lightbars.
- Responsibility for Air Operations equipment fleet (RAF, USAF & Commercially Hired equipment) including oversight for it’s delivery/receipt at Fairford in advance of RIAT, support throughout the usage period, and collection/dispatch from Fairford post event.
- Maintaining a high level of situational awareness, such as project / building requirements, to identify issues with the efficiency of the plan or potential hazards to persons or infrastructure.
- Ensuring supplies of consumables (Water, Tea, Coffee, Milk, Sugar, Squash etc) are available at all Air Ops welfare facilities, and when required, purchasing and restocking supplies.
- Recording work undertaken including layout photographs, equipment inventory and lessons learn log.
- Assistance with and oversight of post-show recovery including inventory and location of Air Ops Equipment and stores.
- Promoting the RIAT ‘Total Safety’ culture and reporting potential hazards.

ABOUT YOU:
The ideal candidate will be educated to GCSE standard or possess equivalent experience, with a strong background in customer service gained within a similar‑sized or larger organisation. They will have a proven track record of delivering high‑quality customer service across face‑to‑face, online and telephone channels, and experience within the outdoor events sector is desirable. Essential skills include strong administrative abilities, excellent written and verbal communication, solid computer literacy, and the capacity to remain calm under pressure while effectively prioritising workloads. The role requires someone who takes pride in their work, is committed to excellence, and is physically able to undertake manual handling tasks. Desirable qualities include knowledge of RIAT and experience in military or aviation environments. Above all, the candidate should be a team player with a good sense of humour and a self‑motivated work ethic.
