Our client’s service has recently grown as they’ve welcomed a new supported person into the service. With the community recently growing, they’re looking for calm, confident Autism Practitioners who can help maintain the stability, warmth, and consistency that make theirs a place where people feel truly at home.

If you thrive on building trust, creating calm and can juggle change with consistency, they’d love to have you on their team! Demonstratable experience in supporting people through significant transitions would be desirable.

Their dedicated team of Autism Practitioners provide personalised support to each person, ensuring their comfort, safety, and holistic well-being. With compassion and respect, you will strive to create a nurturing environment where individuals can thrive and be independent.

Located near Lanark town centre, this is a transitional assessment service supporting autistic adults to develop their skills for the future. Each person has a personalised programme of support incorporating consistency and structure specific to their needs. Some activities that the people they support enjoy are:

  • Long scenic walks
  • Swimming
  • Bowling
  • Baking
  • Gardening
  • Other planned trips and visits to places of interest.

As part of the team, you will play a pivotal role in supporting people to achieve their aspirations and lead fulfilling lives. As part of your role, you will be required to undertake shift work, including weekends and evenings.

Main Duties & Responsibilities

Key Tasks

  • To provide support to autistic people following their outcome-based support plans.
  • To develop the outcome-based support plan in line with relevant policies and procedures and current legislation.
  • To be actively involved in the service planning, delivery, co-ordination and having autonomy within the team.
  • To ensure service provision is of the highest quality, demonstrates best practice and promotes safeguarding.
  • To ensure accurate and robust recording within our recording systems including online systems.
  • Comply with Finance processes to safeguard individuals.
  • To build collaborative relationships with internal and external partners to maximise the effectiveness of the service.
  • To ensure all actions comply with SSSC Codes of Practice, SA’s policies and procedures.
  • To be a Keyworker, leading regular Keyworker Meetings and participating in regular review meetings.
  • To actively participate in coaching and the review process, to identify your individualised learning pathway, through a process of exploration and reflective practice.
  • To maintain Continuous Professional Development in line with the Scottish Services Council (SSSC) registration requirements
  • On-call may be undertaken by Autism Practitioners dependent on development stage and location.

Qualifications/Tickets/Licences Required

  • Hold a Full UK Driving Licence.
