Associate Teachers: Strings/Woodwind/Piano/Recorder/Music Makers

We are looking for Associate Teachers to take on a range of teaching from September 2026, including small group/individual tuition and Wider Opportunities.

We are looking for Associate Teachers to take on a range of teaching from September 2026, including small group/individual tuition and Wider Opportunities:

  • Violin – Schools & Sat Centre
  • Cello – Sat Centre
  • Piano – Schools
  • Woodwind (Flute/Clar/Sax)
  • Recorder – Schools
  • Music Makers – Schools

Teachers should preferably have taught, and be happy to teach, group and individual lessons to pupils from across the age range (ie academic years 2-13, Y1 for Music Makers) and whose abilities range from beginner to grade 8. Experience of group teaching (max four per group) in a school environment and teaching on Wider Opportunities programmes is beneficial.

Teachers must be able to commit to working for 30 weeks per year (10 weeks per academic term).

Rates

£29.90 per hour for standard small group instrumental tuition (September 2026 increase to be confirmed)

£33.88 per hour for large group / whole class sessions (September 2026 increase to be confirmed)

Teachers are paid via PAYE and are eligible to join a Pension Scheme.

Richmond Music Trust aims to employ reliable, flexible and committed individuals who are good at communicating with both children and adults. Successful applicants will be subject to DBS checks. Applicants must be able to commit to working for 10 weeks per academic term.
