Description
Position summary:Rainforest Alliance seeks to engage four committed individuals as Cash Transfer Associates. The associates will be a part of a project that Rainforest Alliance and a cocoa company are implementing to provide cash payments and livelihood strategies for 5,000 farming households in Côte d’Ivoire. The associates will report to the senior project manager and will provide support in the day-to-day implementation of cash payments and assist in tracking the impact of these payments.
Responsibilities
:
- The Rainforest Alliance’s Core Values are Impact, Change, Collaboration, Openness and Trust and as such they form the basis of the behaviours we demonstrate;
- Work with cooperatives to sensitize farmers and engage all local relevant stakeholders, Telcom, community leaders , civil registrar, toward mobile money protocol;
- Support the cash transfer roll out by registering farmers, providing backstopping for cooperatives, and technology partner who will provide the cash transfer service;
- Support vehicle management;
- Provide organizational and logistical support for workshops, events, meetings, and trips;
- Assist in the monitoring and evaluation process of the cash transfer, ensuring that farmers and cooperatives are participating in mobile phone survey in compliance with national and internal data protection rules; and
- Perform any other duties that may be assigned from time to time.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Agriculture, Finance, Business Studies or related field relevant to the position requirements;
- At least one-year work experience in cocoa farming, prior experience with cash transfers a plus;
- Excellent computer, communication, planning and organizational skills;
- Ability to multitask and cope with changing priorities;
- Ability to work independently and in a team;
- Willingness to work to meet demanding timelines;
- Proficiency in French language; and
- Ability to travel locally at least 40% of the time.
