Hours: 15.00 hours per week
Salary: £24,350 per annum (pro rata)

Compton Care provides high quality, accessible care and support for the people in our communities living with life limiting conditions across Wolverhampton, the Black Country, South Staffordshire and East Shropshire.
The charity’s annual running costs are £16 million, 70% of this running cost is funded through our stores, fundraising, and donations from our amazing supporters.
About the Role:
Working alongside the Store Manager you will assist with the the day-to-day operation of our Wednesbury store. You will engage with customers and deliver exceptional service to achieve sales & profit targets. You will work alongside a wonderful team of volunteers, who you will supervise to support both front-of-house and back-of-house activities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support the manager to recruit, train and develop a team of volunteers. Promoting a positive working environment.
- Help the manager to drive KPI’s for the store including gift aid sales conversion, new donor conversion, average transaction value, and average selling price.
- Deliver a high level of customer service, building relationships with shoppers & donors, making them feel valued.
- Alongside the Store Manager, ensure there is adequate flow of stock Ensuring that stock is priced and displayed, in line with company layout & merchandising guidelines.
- Ensure all banking and cash handling procedures are adhered to on a daily basis.
- Support to manage the Store’s Health & Safety standards in line with company policies & procedures.
- Use Microsoft Office and IT systems for cash handling, stock management, HR, Health & Safety & financial management processes.
What We’re Looking For:
You don’t need to have previous experience working in the charity sector, but you do need previous experience in a front-line retail or hospitality environment. You may have some experience in a team leader or supervisory role, or have the relevant experience to make the next step in to a supervisory role.
You will need to be someone who can build great relationships in your store, with those who are visiting to shop and with those who want to give their time to volunteer making a welcoming environment for all. Your excellent communication skills will also be utilised to promote our donated and bought in goods and services.
You will need to IT literate and have experience in cash handling processes.
