Love people? Love beautiful things? Love making a difference?

Join us as an Assistant Manager in our Chesham shop and become and ambassador for our charity. We have a permanent part time position available working 15 hours a week.

You will join a busy shop working alongside a team of paid staff and volunteers helping to maximise the shop sales profits. Manual handling is a core component of the role, handling donations through the stages of processing & helping to merchandise stock on the shop floor. Great customer service is crucial to what we do so previous experience in hospitality, High Street Retail or ideally Charity Retail would help you hit the ground running.

Full training is provided. We are keen to work with people who have the right attitude so willingness to learn specific skills is equally as important as past experience. To thrive in this role you will need a good eye for detail, strong organisational skills and capability to manage volunteer teams in a variety of situations. You will be supported by the shop manager and area manager to achieve your objectives in these areas.

Our Chesham shop trades 7 days a week. The role is flexible in terms of weekend work. The position could be for Sat/Sun work only or if preferred for weekend work to be shared amongst team members on a rota basis. Flexibility is required as working patterns will change regularly due to the needs of the business and levels of volunteers available to work.

We are committed to getting the best out of our applicants and employees and we have therefore made the commitment to sharing interview questions prior to the interview. Interviews will be conducted virtually via Microsoft Teams.

Ready to bring your skills to a role that matters?

Applications will be reviewed and invited to interview as received. We reserve the right to close the advert at any time, therefore we encourage applicants to apply as soon as possible.

Please note that everyone working for Helen & Douglas House are required to undertake a Disclosure and Barring Service check. Helen & Douglas House is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment.
