An exciting opportunity has arisen for a passionate Assistant SENCO to join our team here at TWGSB.

Working closely with the SENCO, you will support the development and implementation of strategies to meet the diverse needs of students, promoting inclusivity and ensuring every child receives the support they require to succeed.

  • All aspects of the job description are to be carried out within a system of supervision by the SENCO.
  • To manage the day-to-day management of the Hubs across TWGSB campuses.
  • To support teaching staff, SENCO and LSAs to raise the standards of achievement of all students by utilising advanced levels of knowledge and skills when assisting with planning, monitoring, recording and assessing data on individuals and groups of students. To encourage students to be independent learners.
  • To support all students to be included in all areas of school life and to provide support for their well-being.
  • To contribute to the safeguarding and promotion of the welfare and personal care of children and young people with regard to the area child protection procedures.

We are currently  undergoing a period of transformational change benefiting from a multi-million pound investment in Tunbridge Wells and a brand new building at our Sevenoaks campus, which opened in September 2021. Since September 2025 Tunbridge Wells Grammar School for Boys has become one of the largest boys’ grammar schools in the country. Here we all share the same vision: ‘To be the best selective boys’ school in West Kent’ and our journey towards achieving this continues to be an exciting one.

We can offer you the opportunity to work with highly able young people in a supportive, well-equipped and forward-thinking school.  We offer a friendly and inclusive working environment and the chance to be part of a fantastic multidisciplinary team, who work hard and support each other to deliver personalised, bespoke education and care.

Staff benefit from a positive working environment, with strong support for professional development and specialist teaching rooms. We aim for high standards and the pursuit of academic excellence, helping every student to reach their full potential through the development of skills, concepts and knowledge, within the framework of a caring community. Relationships between staff and students are based on trust, mutual respect and a determination to succeed.
