Assistant Psychologist **FTC 12 months**

Location: Milton Keynes

Salary: Up to £27,485 per annum

Hours: 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday 9am to 5pm

We are looking for an Assistant Psychologist to join our friendly brain injury rehabilitation team at Thomas Edward Mitton House in Milton Keynes on a 12 months fixed-term contract. The Clinical Team at TEM House also supports a more independent transitional living unit within Milton Keynes, working with 9 service users with an acquired brain injury and the successful candidate will be required to work over both sites.

Thomas Edward Mitton (TEM) House is a specialist residential centre that offers flexible options of specialist care and support for people with acquired brain injury and complex needs. It is our goal to enable our residents to function as independently as possible, develop their lives as they choose and participate in the wider community. 

MAIN PURPOSE:

To work under the clinical supervision of the Consultant Clinical Psychologist to provide psychological support to the neuro-rehabilitation programme at our Service in Milton Keynes.

MAIN TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

As an Assistant Psychologist, your role will include:

  • Behavioural monitoring with observations, data gathering and analysis
  • Producing behavioural and emotional progress reports for review meetings
  • Supporting individual service users with weekly meetings and specific activities
  • Organising and facilitating groups
  • Completing outcome measures and assessments

We're looking for someone with the following skills and qualities:

  • Upper Second Class Honors Degree (2:1) or higher in psychology or equivalent
  • Eligibility for BPS (British Psychological Society) graduate registration
  • Ability to present and teach others
  • Ability to work independently and reliably
  • Experience of working with adults with complex disabilities
