POST: ASSISTANT PROJECT WORKER / INDIVIDUAL SUPPORT / GROUP ACTIVITIES

PROJECT: GAMH COMMUNITY RECOVERY SERVICE

Essential Qualifications

• SVQ Level 2 in Health and Social Care (or equivalent qualification), or willingness to work towards achieving this qualification.

• Ability to meet registration requirements of the Care Inspectorate, including payment of the annual registration fee.

Essential Knowledge

Understanding of the needs of adults experiencing or recovering from mental health challenges.

Knowledge of person-centred and recovery-focused approaches to support.

Awareness of the importance of social inclusion, wellbeing, participation and community engagement.

Understanding of professional boundaries, confidentiality and safeguarding responsibilities.

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

• Ability to build positive, supportive and professional relationships with individuals and groups.

Experience of supporting people in a respectful, empowering and person-centred manner.

• Ability to encourage participation, engagement and involvement in activities and services.

Experience of supporting people to reduce isolation and improve wellbeing.

Other Requirements

• Ability to work flexibly to meet service needs, including occasional early morning, evening and weekend working.

• Willingness to work across a city-wide service and support activities in different community settings.

• A working knowledge of using IT (PC, laptops and notebooks)
