| Primary Responsibilities | The St. Lawrence University biology department seeks to hire a tenure-track molecular biologist to join a dynamic faculty who highly value both active learning pedagogies that enhance student understanding and investigative projects that engage undergraduates in meaningful research experiences. The successful candidate will offer Microbiology with lab (BIOL-231), Genetics (BIOL-245), Research Methods in Molecular Biology with lab (BIOL/BIOCH 395), and, on a rotating basis, co-teach the cell, genetics, and physiology semester of General Biology (BIOL-102). Additional teaching opportunities may include new courses in their area of expertise and/or participation in the University’s First Year Program, our residential living/learning program (https://www.stlawu.edu/offices/first-year-program ). The successful candidate will be expected to develop a research program that could interest students majoring in biology, biomedical sciences, biochemistry, biology-physics, environmental science, conservation biology, and/or neuroscience. Candidates should demonstrate excellence in teaching and mentoring a diverse population of undergraduates with a range of educational backgrounds in science. |
