Selection Team Assessor Teach First is a charity that believes education is the most powerful tool to help a child fulfil their potential. The role The Selection team design and deliver best practice selection models for our Training Programme. We are committed to high standards and select impactful people who will make a positive difference to young people’s lives. You will support our team to deliver an excellent, high quality selection process, assessing candidates at the Development Centre stage. In this role you will be an integral part of ensuring we meet our goal to place inspiring and passionate teachers and leaders in classrooms across England. The detail: Deliver the selection process by assessing candidates at the Development Centre, this will involve: • Interviewing candidates using our semi-structured interview script • Observing and assessing job simulation tasks • Scoring candidate behaviour objectively using our detailed competency framework • Recording notes and processing assessment evidence accurately using our digital assessment platform, TopScore • Taking part in end of day discussions, representing evidence fairly and objectively to ensure we select the best candidates to join our programme • Support training and development of new starters (once probation has passed) • A minimum of 3 days a week is required for this role, with a commitment of up to 3 Saturdays a year You’ll take ownership for: • Working towards the team goal of hiring the target number of graduates to join Teach First (in-line with diversity & shortage subject requirements) • Accurately using Teach First Selection materials and making objective, evidence-based assessment deci- sions • Providing accurate developmental feedback to candi- dates, in line with best practice guidelines • Providing a fair, inclusive and unbiased approach 1 More info on how the role fits in with the rest of the team and charity: You’ll report to: the Scheduling Manager This position is a casual role, exact days and hours will be agreed with the hiring manager. More about our team working patterns: Due to the nature of he development centre schedule, which runs from 8:45am until at least 5:15pm, we are unable to offer flexible working, as fixed hours apply when assessing.
