About the role

Aspire North Administrative Secretary, Directorate of External Affairs (GLOB016S)

Aspire North is part of the National Schools for Higher Education Programme, funded by the Scottish Further and Higher Education Funding Council (SFC). It works with young people in target secondary schools to (a) raise awareness of post-school education opportunities and (b) raise aspirations to participate in these. The main focus of activity is on pupils in those secondary schools with the lowest rate of progression into higher education. Additionally, the programme works where appropriate with teachers, parents, carers and relevant community groups. The programme covers the whole of the North of Scotland.

Job Description

Aspire North has two bases for its activities, one in Aberdeen (covering the Grampian area) and the other in Inverness (covering the Highlands and Islands). Further information is available on the website www.Aspire North.co.uk.

A part time, 22 hour post has arisen for an administrative secretary to be based in our Aberdeen office to support the work of the Aspire North Grampian as part of the National Schools Programme.

You will provide secretarial and administrative support for the Grampian office of ASPIRENorth. You should be self-confident, have excellent communication and interpersonal skills and be able to prioritise workload to meet strict deadlines. Knowledge of database maintenance and financial record keeping required. Previous experience of working within the school, Further or Higher Education Sectors would be an advantage but is not essential.

Salary will be at the appropriate point on Grade 3, £26,565 - £27,920 with placement according to qualifications and experience.
