Job Title: Ask Eve Information Officer Reports to: Ask Eve Lead Nurse Salary: £33,000 pro rata Hours: Part-time, 3 days per week (21 hours)

Start Date: Immediate start

Location: Predominantly home -based (remote), with occasional travel to The Eve Appeal office or other venues for meetings and events .

Job Purpose

The Eve Appeal is the UK’s leading gynaecological cancer charity. We are dedicated to saving lives through prevention, early diagnosis and screening of the five gynaecological cancers: ovarian, womb, cervical, vulval and vaginal cancer. We fund and support world -class research, provide trusted information, raise awareness of symptoms and risk factors, and campaign to improve outcomes for everyone affecte d by gynaecological cancers.

Ask Eve is The Eve Appeal’s free, confidential, nurse -led information service.

The Ask Eve Information Officer will play a key role in delivering The Eve Appeal’s confidential information service, providing expert, evidence -based support on gynaecological cancers and general gynaecological health.

Ask Eve is a free, inclusive, and taboo -free service, supporting anyone with questions or concerns. The role will contribute to raising awareness of signs and symptoms, promoting prevention and early detection, and supporting individuals pre - and post -diag nosis.

The postholder will respond to enquiries directed by the Ask Ev e Lead Nurse and contribute to the ongoing development and promotion of the service, ensuring it remains accessible, inclusive, and impactful.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

Information Provision

Respond to enquiries from the public, patients, family members , health and social care professionals and stakeholders, as directed by the Ask Eve Lead Nurse.

Provide accurate, evidence -based information, support, and advice on gynae health, gynae cancers, symptoms, risk factors, screening, and treatment pathways.

Communicate complex, sensitive, and emotive information with empathy and professionalism.

• Signpost service users to appropriate additional sources of support where relevant.

Support the delivery of educational sessions, including Every Woman Promise, Lunch & Learn sessions and outreach initiatives

Service Development, Monitoring and Evaluation

Support the ongoing development of Ask Eve to ensure it is inclusive, accessible, and responsive to diverse communities.

Maintain accurate and confidential records of service users, enquiries, and outcomes in line with professional guidelines and organisational requirements.

• Participate in audits and evaluation processes to improve service quality.

Professional Responsibilities

Maintain professional standards in line with professional guidelines and within scope of competence.

Ensure all revalidation requirements are met.

• Promote compassionate, empathetic, and respectful communication at all times.

• Maintain up -to-date knowledge of clinical and research developments in gynaecological cancers.

• Attend monthly Ask Eve team meetings and clinical supervision sessions.

Comply with data protection, safeguarding, and governance requirements.

• Adhere to all organisational policies and procedures.

General Duties

• Attend occasional events on behalf of The Eve Appeal.

• Undertake additional duties as required in line with the scope of the role.

Person Specification

We welcome applications from experienced healthcare professionals with a proven track record and expertise in gynaecological cancers and/or women's health. This may include specialist nurses, doctors, or other appropriately qualified healthcare professionals who hold a current professional registration and have experience supporting people affected by gynaecolo gical health conditions and cancers.

Essential

Registration

Current NMC , GMC or similar registration.

Registered Nurse, Registered Medical Practitioner, or other appropriately qualified healthcare professional

Qualifications

Professional qualification ( RN, M BChB )

• Post registration o ncology qualification

• Advanced communications skills

Evidence of continuous professional development

Knowledge

Up to date , evidence -based , clinical knowledge of gynaecological cancers including prevention, treatment pathways and national guidelines

Understanding of the needs of patients, loved ones, and professionals affected by gynaecological cancers

Knowledge of national strategies such as the National Cancer Plan, Women’s Health Strategy for England and NHS Long Term Plan

Experience

Gynaecological Clinical Nurse Specialist (or equivalent specialist experience in gynaecological cancers or women's health).

Substantial experience working with individuals affected by gynae health issues with diverse needs

Experience providing specialist health information to varied audiences

Recent experience working within the NHS (within the last 5 years).

Skills and Attributes

Excellent communication skills, including the ability to manage sensitive and complex information

Empathetic, compassionate, and professional approach

• Strong organisational and record -keeping skills

Project management skills including planning, organisation and the ability to meet deadlines.

• Proficient in use of Microsoft Office applications .
