Empowering Parents, Supporting Families, Changing Lives

Barnardo's Virtual Family Space is dedicated to providing parents and carers with accessible, high-quality virtual resources, workshops, and parenting programmes, live by Microsoft Teams to support them in their parenting journey. We are looking for passionate and experienced facilitators to join our growing team.

Role Overview

This is an ‘As and When' role, ideal for individuals looking for flexible working hours or seeking to supplement their current role. Sessions may be scheduled during weekdays, evenings, or weekends. This is a home-based position.

As a facilitator, you will deliver engaging group workshops and/or structured parenting programmes for parents of children. Sessions may include topics such as Introducing Solids, Potty Training, and evidence-based parenting programmes like The Cygnet Programme, Triple P or similar.

Key Responsibilities

  • Facilitate high-quality, interactive virtual workshops and parenting programmes live via Microsoft Teams.
  • Create a welcoming and inclusive environment for parents and carers.
  • Adapt content and delivery methods to meet the diverse needs of participants.
  • Work collaboratively to contribute to the ongoing development of our services.
  • Maintain accurate records and evidence outcomes for parents and carers.

What We're Looking For

  • Desirable but not essential would be candidates who could deliver in other languages.
  • Experience in facilitating group sessions, particularly within early years and neurodiversity contexts.
  • A strong understanding of the challenges faced by families and a sensitive, empathetic approach.
  • The ability to work flexibly, including evenings and weekends where required.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage and support parents effectively.
  • A commitment to Barnardo's values and a passion for making a difference in the lives of families.

What We Offer

  • Flexible working arrangements—choose sessions that fit your availability.
  • The opportunity to be part of a dynamic and ambitious team.
  • A chance to contribute to the development of an innovative virtual service supporting families nationwide.

Application Process

Please refer to the Person Specification, Job Description, and Additional Information document when completing your application. Highlight your experience in delivering services, providing specific examples where possible. Additionally, please specify the number of hours per week you are available.

Additional Information

We are looking to engage multiple facilitators and offer great flexibility in session numbers—from a single session per week to multiple sessions.

Apply early! Due to high demand, we may close this advert before the stated deadline.

Barnardo's is an inclusive organisation that values diversity and is committed to equality. If you have the experience and passion to support parents and carers, empower families, and help shape the future of virtual support services, we'd love to hear from you.
