Apprenticeship/SVQ Assessor in Social Services: Children and Young People

We are recruiting for a 0.5 FTE (17.5 hours per week) assessor for SVQ Social Services: Children and Young People.

Assessor duties include building good working relationships with the candidates and candidate’s employer, observing the candidate within their workplace, collating and recording the evidence gathered within the college e-portfolio system, providing constructive feedback to the candidate and their employer and ensuring there is sufficient evidence gathered to meet awarding body requirements.

Applicants will initially assess candidates primarily in Oban and Helensburgh but will be required to support candidates across Argyll. Candidate location can create occasional requirements to work outside normal 9am – 5pm hours to accommodate travel time.

Applicants should hold an HNC, SVQ at SCQF Level 7 or equivalent in Social Services: Children and Young People or equivalent and have relevant experience and occupational competency within industry.

Ideally you will hold an Assessors qualification (A1 or equivalent) or be willing to complete within first year of employment.

Travel within Argyll will be necessary and as such a driving licence is an essential requirement.
