This is an excellent opportunity for someone at the start of their career who is interested in business operations and HR administration, and who wants to gain hands-on experience while working towards aLevel 3 Business Administration apprenticeship.

Can you do it?

As part of the People & Development team, you’ll provide friendly, proactive administrative support across the full employee lifecycle.

You’ll act as a first point of contact for people-related queries, ensuring colleagues receive clear and timely support. You’ll help process new starter documentation, maintain accurate employee records, and support payroll by ensuring information is recorded correctly and submitted on time.

You will be responsible for:
  • Acting as a primary point of contact for people queries from new starters, employees, and non-employees, directing queries where appropriate.
  • Collating payroll, pension, and benefits information to support accurate monthly payroll processing.
  • Supporting administrative people processes, including producing reference letters, confirmation of employment letters, and leaver documentation.
  • Maintaining and updating employee records within the HR Information System (HRIS).
  • Coordinating new starter paperwork and ensuring documentation is completed accurately and on time.
  • Supporting wider People & Development activities as required.

To be successful, you will have:

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • A positive, proactive “can-do” attitude and willingness to learn.
  • An interest in business operations and willingness to undertake a qualification.
  • The ability to form effective working relationships at all levels.

Working hours are 35-hours per week, Monday to Friday with some flexibility, 3 days onsite with hybrid working available. Located in Greater Manchester (initially based in Stockport with a move to Manchester Science Park mid to late 2026).
